One week down, seventeen to go

Posted: January 22, 2010 in FVTC, Student Life

It was really nice seeing familiar faces return to campus this week. Everywhere I turn there seems to be something going on: club recruitment day, casino night, the Futuremakers video contest and national popcorn day just to name a few. There’s nothing like jumping right back into it after break. No time to dangle a toe in and check the water, I just gotta cannon ball right in and see how big of a splash I can make!

Classes officially began last Thursday, but today marks the end of the first full week of the spring semester. I wasn’t exactly sure how hectic this semester would be, but after the first week I’m pretty confident I made the right decision when only signing up for 12 credits. Between those five classes and my marketing internship, I will definitely stay busy. Most of my classes take place online or in an open lab environment, which allows me to work ahead if I want. I have really come to love this format; and might even be able to finish a few weeks before the semester officially ends. This is key, knowing that there will be some job hunting going on soon; maybe I’ll even be able to start my summer job a little early.

I hope everyone is also getting settled in and enjoying the finer aspects of college life, here are some of my favorites…

  • Seeing the bookstore overflowing with students eager to empty their pockets and fill their backpacks.
  • Information Tables scatted throughout the hallways.
  • Having to park in the very last row of the parking lot.
  • Being able to grab a bite at the Fox Valley Grill

Do you know where I am? Be the first to comment correctly on where I’m hanging out in the picture and I’ll hook you up with your very own FVTC Futuremaker T-shirt!
